Typical error message is : "Failed to install Printer Driver"
You may experience problems installing FaxNow on Windows NT which may
come around for a number of different reasons, including..
- Insufficient rights.
- Clashing with a partially installed FaxNow client.
- Old shared Microsoft DLL's (MSVCRT.DLL, and MFC42.DLL) If you have
failed to install the printer driver, you MUST restart the machine before
trying to install it again.
- Windows NT 4 Service Pack 5 (or above)
IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry.
Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore
it if a problem occurs. For information about how to do this, view the
"Restoring the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a
Registry Key" Help topic in Regedt32.exe.

Solution
- To install FaxNow! you need "Full Control" to the WINDOWSNT\SYSTEM32\SPOOL
directory. To use FaxNow you need "Change" rights. You also need rights
to stop and start NT Services. (Granting Administrator equivalence is
the easiest option)
- To remove all references to FaxNow, go to Control Panel->Add Remove
Programs, and uninstall the FaxNow software. In addition you should
check the following references are no longer located in the registry.

Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2\FaxNow!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Print Processors\RRFPProc
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Uninstall\FaxNow! Client
- Run MFCUPDATE located on the FaxNow! CD or on our web site. In addition
re-name all MFC42.dll and MSVCRT.dll files which are not located within
the ..\windows\system (..\winnt\system32 for NT) 4. You need to apply
FaxNow Service Release 2 prior to installation of the FaxNow! client.
