RedRock FaxNow! protects against junk faxes

FaxNow! v3.1, the leading fax software for Windows prevents FaxNow! users from receiving unwanted faxes, but also restricts FaxNow! sending faxes to sensitive recipients.

In an effort to stop junk faxes, Conservative MP Christopher Fraser, has brought forward an Unsolicited Facsimile Messages Bill that would force companies to obtain permission before sending marketing faxes.

"Not all unsolicited faxes are unwanted as recipients are interested in being kept informed " says Stephen Anderson, RedRock MD."However, there are certain companies that persistently transmit faxes in huge volumes and take little if any notice of a recipients request to be removed from a mailing list or database."

FaxNow! v3.1 provides a simple solution called Blacklisting, that enables a senders ID to be added to a Blacklist. When a blacklisted call is received, FaxNow! disconnects the call immediately before receiving any part of the unwanted fax.

For companies who use FaxNow! to broadcast unsolicited faxes, the threat of legal action from recipients who do not wish to receive your faxes may become an issue if such a Bill is passed.

"The first time an issue like this appears is when an angry recipient calls to let the sender know that they do not want to receive further faxes." says Stephen Anderson. "At this point, the situation is amicable. However, if you are broadcasting to a large list, it is sometimes difficult to manage thos recipients that do not wish to receive further faxes. In addition, if senders are continually purchasing new mailing lists, it may be virtually impossible."

FaxNow! provides a method of call barring that enables recipient telephone/fax numbers to be added to a "barred" list. Any telephone/fax number that is included in the "barred" list cannot be dialled by FaxNow!. "Barred" numbers can be added and removed quickly, and eliminate the possibility of annoying recipients.

Both Call Barring and Blacklisting are standard features of FaxNow! v3.1
