FaxNow! helps with the big number

RedRock FaxNow! includes a wizard to automatically update FaxNow! PhoneBook entries.

FaxNow! 5 and FaxNow! 2000 now include a wizard that automatically updates PhoneBook entries for the new area codes being introduced by OFTEL later this year.

This is available now with the latest build of FaxNow! and is available for download today.

What is the BIG number?
The Big Number is an essential reorganisation of the UK’s numbering system. It will:

Create the capacity for millions of new numbers.
Provide a clear way to recognise the different types of numbers.

The main change is the introduction of new area codes and eight-figure local numbers in six places: Cardiff, Coventry, London, Northern Ireland, Portsmouth and Southampton. If you live or work in one of these places where numbers are changing, or you need to contact someone who does, the changes will affect you.

There are also changes to mobile phone, pager and personal numbers, Special Rate and Premium Rate numbers.

Our aim is to make The Big Number reorganisation as smooth as possible for FaxNow! users.

To help, RedRock have developed a wizard that will search your current FaxNow! PhoneBooks, and update all the area codes that are changing to the new number.

From now, you must use the new national area codes with the new local numbers to dial nationally.
