FaxNow! 3.1 Update

Patch Features

  1. This patch will disable network broadcasts made by the server that enable remote viewing of the FaxNow! Servers status.

  2. An extra API function has been added which overcomes background printing problems from Windows 95.

  3. A minor fault has been fixed in the Lotus Notes email gateway caused by large subject fields.

  4. When being used behind certain switches the GammaLink card passed corrupt DDI digits to FaxNow!

  5. There is now a configurable option in the Fax Manager ini file which will compensate for poor network performance when launching the Fax Viewer by double clicking on a fax.

  6. Additional rendering modules have been added.

  7. Printing to network printers with names longer than 32 characters will now work, however there is still a restriction where each printer > 32 characters must be unique within the first 32 characters.

  8. Increased refresh speed of the Fax Manager queues when a large number of faxes are present, there is also an option in the Fax Manager ini to disable the working dialog.

  9. Support has been added for Novell Groupwise 5.

  10. Shadow groups are no longer ignored under Windows 95 clients.

  11. Fax Server Stack Overflow error when using MAPI to forward faxes has been resolved.

  12. There is now the ability to customise the text that appears on coverpages for Name, Company etc.

  13. The inability to create a coverpage if one with the same name already exists has been fixed.

  14. The FaxNow! printer driver will now successfully install on Service Pack 5 Windows NT 4.

Files Affected
This update is a new complete set of FaxNow! executable components, all exe and dll files will be replaced.

Running the update
This program must be run from the machine on your network that has the FaxNow! 3.1 server program installed on it.

To run this update, download the file from below then simply double click on the fn31sr3.exe icon.

IMPORTANT
Before running the update program please close down the FaxNow! server program and ensure that there are no clients connected to the Faxnow! server. This update is for version 3.1 of FaxNow!, if you are using version 3.0 of FaxNow!, please click here.
