FaxNow! 3.0 Update
Versions of FaxNow! 3 released prior to 6th January 1998 will benefit
from applying this update. If you are not sure which release you have,
please check the version of file "isfgen32.DLL", if this is build 153
or earlier then you should apply this update.
This document details information concerning the RedRock FaxNow!! version
3.0 update 4, including installation details and issues resolved. In order
to guarantee the successful installation, PLEASE read the entire document.
Patch Features
- Adding users to FaxNow!! 3.0 who have an email address, some people
may have experienced the user name disappearing.
- The FaxNow!! 3 migration wizard contained minor display problems.
- When printing from the Fax Manager or Viewer, if an error occurs during
the print then the print progress dialog box will now disappear.
- The inability to print a page range of a fax from within the Fax Manager
and Viewer has now been resolved.
- Some OSR2 installations of Windows 95 have experienced problems using
CoverPages. This problem was caused by Windows changing the name of
the RedRock Fax printer driver slightly.
- Printing labels from Windows 95, now takes into account the DPI settings
on the target printer correctly.
- Minor updates to the GammaLink driver.
- When switching between tabs on the Fax Server System Properties the
entries on the blacklist tab now do not become duplicated.
- Some API programmers may have experienced problems printing CoverPages
on the first call to the API. This no longer happens.
- An Express Fax API call has been added, allowing single page express
faxes to be created from programming environments.
- The export CSV option from the Activity Logger now functions correctly.
- The Activity Logger will now display progress when loading.
- Some Ink jet printers under windows 95 will now not print blank pages
from the Fax Viewer/Fax Server/Fax Manager.
- Some situations cause the activity logger to load slowly, this has
now been resolved.
- Some Windows 95 machines may have experienced shutdown problems after
running the Fax Server. These problems have now been rectified.
- Extra FaxNow!! API functions have been added. See the web site documentation for details.
This update is a new complete set of FaxNow!! executable components, all exe and DLL files will be replaced.
Running the update
This program must be run from the machine on your network that has the
FAXNow!! 3.0 server program installed on it.
To run this update, simply download the file from below then double click on the update4.exe icon.
IMPORTANT
Before running the update program please close down the FAXNow!! server
program and ensure that there are no clients connected to the FaxNow!!
server.
